Aspiring NPP candidate assures electorate

Mpasatia (Ash), July 23, GNA - Mr Thomas Nyereseh, one of the aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidates for the Atwima-Mponua Constituency, has given the assurance that his priority would be on education if he were given the mandate.

Mr Nyereseh, who is the Head of the Science Department of Osei Kyeretwie Secondary School (OKESS) in Kumasi and a Soil Research Co-ordinator, said he would launch an Atwima-Mponua Education Fund to assist brilliant but needy students.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Mpasatia on plans for the Constituency if given the nod at the primaries on Tuesday, he said he would also institute a Best School Award Scheme to promote effective teaching and learning.

"I will promote the effective functioning of School Management Committees (SMCs) for the efficient management of schools in the Constituency," he said, adding that he would work hard for the upgrading of one of the two senior secondary schools into a well-endowed school. Mr Nyereseh said the health of the people would also be high on his agenda and would strive for the opening of more health centres and clinics in the Constituency.

The aspiring candidate said he would tackle environmental sanitation and discourage child labour by constantly interacting with the people.
