Aspirant solicits votes from delegates

Alhaji Mohammed Alhassan, an aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National vice Chairmanship position has appealed to party delegates to scrutinize the various aspirants and vote for one who could help the party retain power.

He said the NDC was at the crossroads and needed dedicated persons to work in concert and to collectively push the party’s agenda forward to make it easier to retain power in 2016.

In a statement issued in Tamale on Thursday, he assured delegates that he possessed all the qualities needed to work to ensure that the NDC wins the 2016 elections in one round of voting to continue with the “Better Ghana Agenda”.

He observed that the forthcoming National Delegates’ Congress of the party slated for Kumasi was very crucial, which needed leaders who could work to turn the fortunes of the party towards winning power in 2016.

He assured that he would resort to consultations at all levels of the party if elected, to ensure that everybody had a say in building a winsome party, and that he worked and left some footprints in the Northern Region when he served as a Deputy Northern Regional Secretary from 1993 to 1995.

“I became a District Chief Executive (DCE) earlier, and with these position, it had empowered me to mobilize the grassroots of the party.

Team work is the hallmark of every successful enterprise and a vote for me will ensure that all key players in the party such as party executives, MPs, DCEs as well as rank and file of the party work together,” he said.

He congratulated the other contestants in the race, and advised the candidates to see themselves as winners regardless of the choice of the delegates.

He appealed to all contestants in the various positions to restrain their supporters from engaging in acts of violence and intimidation during and after the congress, and urged them to also accept defeat and avoid blaming others for failures.
