Asenso-Boakye joins NPP Bantama parliamentary candidate race

Kumasi, March 26, GNA - Mr Francis Asenso-Boakye, a 33-year old Consultant of the Spartan Development Solutions, Accra, has filed his nomination to contest the Bantama Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.

He is campaigning on unity and has pledged to work with all to ensure absolute peace and harmony in the party. Mr Asenso-Boakye describes himself as a team player, who would bring more dynamism into the NPP as it prepared to re-capture political power in 2012.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi after filing his nomination, Mr Asenso-Boakye, a former Development Communications Specialist of the Employment and Social Welfare Ministry, said he would set up a scholarship scheme for brilliant, but needy pupils and students if given the mandate to represent the constituency. Additionally, he would link up with micro-finance institutions to provide credit facilities to particularly women to expand their businesses.

Mr Asenso-Boakye expressed confidence about his chances, saying, he was in no doubt that the delegates would give their votes to him. Mr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, immediate past Constituency Chairman, has also filed his nomination to contest for the parliamentary ticket.
