Asante-Bekwai NPP executive heal wounds in the party

Bekwai (Ash), March 24, GNA - The Asante-Bekwai Constituency Executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stepped up efforts to heal wounds and unite the party ahead of the 2012 general election. They would be visiting all the 96 communities in the area under a programme they have dubbed "Unity campaign" to interact with the supporters, listen to their concerns and mend cracks.

They have also planned a "unity rally" on May 2, at Bekwai to be addressed by the National and Regional Officers.

Mr James Tony Bediako, the Constituency Communications Director, told the Ghana News Agency at Bekwai that they were determined to ensure that there was absolute peace and harmony in the NPP as they prepared for the struggle to win back political power.

Multi-party democracy was about numbers and for that matter they would do everything to hold on to all their members and supporters. He said they were confident that if they did this they would be on course to achieving the 90 per cent vote target they had set for the presidential and parliamentary election.

He appealed to the party's supporters to remain focused and work hard to recapture power. 24 March 10
