Aliu 2008 Campaign names Amoako Tuffuor as chief strategist

Accra, Oct. 17, GNA - Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama's campaign for the 2008 flag bearer slot of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday announced the reorganisation of the team, naming Dr Kwame Amoako Tuffuor, former campaign manager, as advisor and chief strategist due to his "excellent political skills".

A statement signed by Mr Yaw Asamoah, Senior Special Legal Aide at the Office of the Vice President, said a fulltime campaign Manager has also been appointed.

"These arrangements are due to the need for Dr Amoako Tuffuor to re-align his time in order to focus even more on the highly successful Ghana School Feeding Program, which has attracted international acclaim under his leadership as well as lift the campaign agenda to a new level in view of the fact that there are just about two months to the December congress of the New Patriotic Party."

The statement said the Vice President's respect for Dr Amoako Tuffuor's sense of duty and commitment had been enhanced considerably.

"In that regard, the Vice President wants to assure all well-wishers and the numerous supporters of the Aliu 2008 Campaign that he has absolute confidence in Dr Amoako Tuffuor's capacity to provide effective guidance and strategic direction to the well motivated team now in place," it said.
