Agona East NDC executives endorse DCE nominee

Agona Duakwa, (C/R), April 18, GNA - The 15-member executive of the Agona East branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has endorsed the nomination of Mr John O. Arkoh as the District Chief Executive for Agona East Assembly. Mr Kobina Takyi-Nkrumah, Vice Chairman of the Constituency who disclosed this at a Press conference at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region on Thursday said, the entire executives of the party had declared their unflinching support for President Mills nominee for Agona East. He noted that the President has made the rightful choice and expressed the hope that Mr Arkoh's rich expertise and long service as a party activist could help the growth of the NDC in he area. Mr Takyi-Nkrumah described the behaviour of some youth who staged a demonstration against the President's nominee at Agona Nsaba last week as unfortunate, adding that, those dem onstrators were unknown and were of the minority in the Agona East.

He said "the executives would not sit down unconcerned for a few disgruntled elements to disgrace the NDC party" and pledged that, they would go all out and rally solidly behind Mr Arkoh's appointment as DCE. The Vice Chairman stressed that the nomination of Mr Arkoh "had come at right time", and that the NDC party would be strengthened to win the Parliamentary seat in the 2012 elections. Mr Takyi-Nkurmah hoped that the assembly members would approve the nomination of the President nominee to ensure the development of the constituency. 18 April 09
