Invest in health care delivery in Jamestown

Nii Akwei Bonso III, the Stool Secretary, Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area has called on corporate institutions to invest in the health care delivery of the people of James Town.

He said Jamestown was a densely populated community, which faced a lot of challenges including health care and education.

Nii Bonso III, made the remarks during a health screening exercise, organised for children from six to 14 years in the James town community in Accra.

The exercise was organised by Aquafresh Limited, producers of Kalyppo, one of Ghana’s natural juice brands for children. It is company’s corporate social responsibility to give back to society especially children, who are their major stakeholders.

He said the traditional council was also advancing partnerships to improve on the living condition of the area and urged investors to invest in the economic development of the people.

Nii Bonso III commended Kalyppo Kares for instituting the community health screening initiative to alert parents on the health status of their children.

He said the exercise was necessary because children were vulnerable in society and also exposed to diseases.

Mr Chris Nana Ampadu, Kalyppo Kares Project Manager, said the Company was organising the event with its Sangy Nursing Services, the health partner.

He said the Service had excellent community health and medical experience to handle the children.

“About 500 children benefited from the screening,” he said, adding, children’s healthcare was vital to their growth, and education for national development.

Nana Ampadu said in addition to the health screening, Sangy Nursing staff also provided basic nutrition and health education information to participants.

The Project manager said if the pilot phase became successful, management would expand the activities to other regions.

He said children, whose parents brought them to the health screening were treated to free fun and games set up on location for their amusement.
