Garden City University College wins global health debate

The Garden City University College emerged champions of a health debate held to test the knowledge of students about the causes, effects and prevention of hepatitis “b”, tuberculosis and the HIV and AIDS.

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Nursing and Midwifery Training College and the Kwadaso Seventh Day Adventist Nursing Training College were the other participating institutions.

It was jointly organised by Health Education and Environmental (HEE) Foundation, a non-governmental organisation and Ghana Nurses and Midwives Council.

The goal was to assist to promote health education.

Mrs Gloria Aduse-Poku, Ashanti Regional Director of Nurses and Midwife Council, praised the participants for their good performance.

She encouraged them to continue to work hard and to read wide to broaden their general outlook.

She also urged them to help educate people in their communities about the need for lifestyles, personal hygiene and environmental sanitation.

Mr Sani Mohammed, Founder of HEE Foundation, appealed to all to take health issues more seriously.**
