J-Care Foundation Donates To Korle-Bu

As part of its core mission to improve the conditions of
children in Ghana particularly the less privileged, J-Care Foundation has
donated food items worth Seven thousand Ghana cedis to the children’s ward of
the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. The donation which comes in the wake of the
pertinent challenges confronting the health sector of the country is expected
the address some of these problems.
Presenting the items on behalf of the foundation, Dr.
Kwabena Donkor who is a board member of the foundation said that Ghana is aware
of the efforts health workers put in to ensure that lives are saved on daily
basis. He noted that in most cases these health professionals face logistical
challenges which makes it difficult to for them to give of their best as a
result, innocent lives are lost.
Dr. Donkor commended the health workers at the children’s
ward of the hospital for their bravery and selflessless in the way and manner
they discharge their duties and urged them on to do more to save more lives.
Receiving the items on behalf of the ward the Deputy
Director of Nursing Services Mrs. Rebecca Lartey thank the Foundation for the
gesture and said it comes to them as a surprise. She indicated that the ward
deals with very serious emergency cases yet very little resources are available
to facilitate their work. Therefore she believes that the donation will to some
extent improve on their service delivery but called for more support to put the
ward in a more modern state.
J_ Care Foundation was established a year ago with the view
to addressing shelter, healthcare, educational needs and food security of
Ghanaian children especially the destitute.
