Top Herbal Clinic, a leading herbal medicare outfit, has offered free health screening against Hepatitis-B for about 200 people at Agbogba near Haatso in the Greater Accra Region.

Mr. George Amissah, a Biomedical Scientist in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the screening for diseases formed part of the corporate social responsibilities of the health facility and to create Hepatitis-B awareness which is spreading at a very alarming rate in the country.

According to Mr. Amissah, the Hepatitis-B is easily transmitted from one person to the other and that the symptoms of the ailment are not immediately detected until the infection has completely damaged the whole body system.

Therefore “one needs to take health screening very seriously for the early detection,” he advised.

Mr. Amissah said the clinic offered a similar screening last year against sickle cell anaemia and haemoglobin.

He advised Ghanaians to exercise regularly and also stick to healthy lifestyles by eating much fruits and vegetables. **
