Suspected bird flu hits Tarkwa-Nsueam Mun.

The Veterinary Services Department, has begun investigations into suspected bird flu infection at a poultry farm at New Takoradi, a suburb of Tarkwa, in the Western Region.

A team of veterinary and environmental officials, at the weekend destroyed about 250 birds, eight crates of eggs, four bags of poultry feed and empty egg crates suspected to have been infected with the disease.

The veterinary officials, who carried samples of the suspected infected birds refused an interview with the Ghana News Agency.
