Oguaa Light House organises free health screening

The Cape Coast branch of the Lighthouse Chapel International (LCI) has held a free health screening event for residents of Nkanfoa, a suburb of the Metropolis.

During the five- hour exercise, 220 people were screened and given medication, as part of the “Saving Jesus Crusade” held in the community to win souls for Christ.

Dr Frederick Agyei, who led the medical team made up of two medical doctors, three pharmacists and13 nurses, said the diseases diagnosed were mostly malaria especially among children.

He said other cases seen included diarrhoea and hypertension.

He called for sustenance of a regular health education programme in the community.

Bishop Jake Godwyll, the Bishop of (LCI) Central Region and Head of the Lion of Judah Cathedral, who led the crusade, noted that the church needs to win the world for Christ.

The church also held a similar exercise at the Duakor, a fishing community where almost 500 people were screened.
