NPP youth, women, commend people of Fomena

Accra, Jan. 29, GNA - The Youth and Women wings of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday expressed their gratitude to the chiefs and people of Fomena for voting for the Party's candidate in the just ended by-elections in that constituency.

A statement signed by National Youth Organizer, John Boadu said; "We wish to express special thanks to all the youth and women's groups, who campaigned earnestly for the Party to win the election by a whopping 81.4 per cent of total votes."

It attributed the Party's victory to the people's recognition of the Government's laudable policies and programmes and its persistent pursuit of democratic governance and political stability, which had benefited the country through the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA).

The statement also welcomed and praised Busumuru Kofi Annan for his immense service to humanity and urged the youth to emulate him.
