Medicines at Medimoses Prostrate Centre are not registered – FDB

Accra, Oct. 4, GNA - The Food and Drugs Board has informed the general public that herbal medicines being dispensed at Medimoses Prostate Centre have not been registered by the FDB.

It has therefore cautioned the general public that any person who patronised herbal medicines from Medimoses Prostate Centre did so at their own risk since the FDB had not analysed those herbal medicines and therefore their safety, efficacy and quality could not be guaranteed.

This was contained in a statement issued by Dr Stephen K. Opuni, Chief Executive of FDB in Accra on Monday.

It said all the health claims being made for the underlisted medicines such as sexual weakness, prostate cancer, stroke, hypertension, glaucoma, AIDS, and diabetes could not be substantiated since the herbal medicines had not been certified by the FDB.

The products include Medimoses-Anti-stroke, Medimoses-Fabrocure, Medimoses-Prostrate, Medicare, Medicare, Pain masta, Medimoses Slimmer, Afro-moses, Medi-vision, Super Afro-moses power, Kendy herbal hair care cream, Kendy herbal skin.

It said the matter had been handed over to the police for further investigations.

The FDB assured the general public that it would continue to endeavour to execute its mandate to protect public health and safety at all times.

Moreover, information from the general public on persons suspected to be in any practice with the potential of endangering public health and safety with respect to FDB’s mandate is most welcomed through any of the following contact numbers; 0244337235, 0246809509 or 0208204968.
