Kasapreko to support Korle- Bu Cardio Centre

Kasaprko Company Limited (KCL), one of the leading alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverage producers in Ghana, has pledged to support the Cardio-thoracic Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Ms Kate Adu–Baah, Group Chief Corporate Manager of the Company, who disclosed this to the GNA in Bolgatanga during the just ended farmers day, said the Company would use part of the proceeds of its new product, “the Awake bottled Water”, to support the centre, and urged the public to patronize the product, which is already on the market.

She said KCL, as a responsible corporate entity, was committed to achieving sustainable growth and development in communities, and that, the company over the years, had been actively engaged in supporting community projects.

“Some of our social engagements include donations to various traditional councils in support of development projects and support to tertiary and health institutions in the country”, she said.

Ms Adu–Baah said as part of the KCL's contributions towards the farmers day this year, it contributed over GH¢53,000, including cartons of assorted drinks, Awake bottled Water, laptop computers and accessories, among others.

“Also the Company supported all the ten Regional and the National Planning Committees with GH¢1,000 each as well as assorted drinks. The Company values farmers very much and will continue to support them to feed the nation”, she said.

She said the Company’s mission is to be a multinational company and was creating lasting value for its stakeholders by producing diversified alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from herbal and other traditional blends using first class technology.

She said the Company’s philosophy was in tune with the President’s vision of promoting local goods, adding that, the company uses local raw material, including herbs and cassava to manufacture its products.

Mr Yaw Mensah, the National Sales Manager of the Company, said quality was of utmost importance to the company, and that, it never compromises with that in the process of brewing.

“Our Quality Control Department ensures that products put on the market are wholesome and acceptable to the customers. We also collaborate with the renowned Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine ( CSRPM),an affiliate of the World Health Organization, in the development of our products’’, he noted.

He said the Company’s flagship brand is the Alomo Bitters and other quality brands, which include the Opeimu Bitters, Cocoa liqueur, Tonic Wine, Lime, Cardinal Strawberry, Kasapreko Brandy, K20 Gin and Whisky among others.

The Sales Manager said the Company exports its products to the West African sub region, and that, its products, especially the Alomo bitters have been accepted in the West African sub region and beyond.

“Due to our exceptional quality standards and professionalism, we export directly to Nigeria, with plans far advanced to enter the Eastern and Southern African markets. Our products are also in Europe, United States of America, Asia and other African countries,” he stressed.
