‘Circulation of Information on Ebola Virus False’

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has refuted the circulation of information that the FDA has confirmed that Boko Haram has introduced the Ebola virus in chalks used in Ghana and two teachers have died as a result.

“The FDA wishes to state emphatically that the information being circulated on the social media is false and advises the general public to disregard it,” a statement from the FDA said.

The statement signed by Mr John Odame-Darkwah, the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Food Safety and copied to the GNA, said it had notified the security agencies to investigate the source of such misleading information.

It advised the general public to desist from circulating such information which was capable of causing fear and panic and urged them to always visit the FDA website to verify the source of any circulation purported to be originating from the FDA.
