The Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) has signed the AIDE Memoire, Memorandum of Understanding with various donor partners for the management of the National HIV/ AIDS response.

The MOU is a summary of proceeding, agreed priorities and financial commitments made by donor partners at the end of the11th Partnership Forum and Business meeting held in November in Accra.

The two-day event held every year was on the theme: “Fast tracking the National Response towards 90-90-90.”

Dr Angela El-Adas, the Director-General, GAC, speaking at the signing ceremony, said the MOU sealed the discussion on the work done throughout the year and focuses on the year ahead.

She commended the donors, development partners and government for their support and funding of the National Strategic Plan.

She said stakeholders needed to be more strategic in their funding arrangements in the implementation of the next phase of the National HIV and AIDS Response (2016-2020).

Mrs Gladys Ghartey, a Representative of the Ministry of Finance, said government released GH?15 million in 2015 to the Commission for the implementation of its activities.

She said Government would continue to make resources available to the Commission for its implementation processes.

Mr Collins Agyarko-Nti, Chairman, Country Coordinating Mechanism of the Global Fund, said stakeholders needed to intensify their resource mobilization locally for their activities.

“We need to do assessment and look at our resource mobilization critically,” he added.
