2 Teenagers, One other jailed 50 months for robbery

Three persons including two teenagers have been jailed to a total of 50 months for robbery by a District Magistrate Court presided over by Her Lordship Juliana Millicent Okrah at Begoro in the Eastern region.

Nyarko Abronoma of Bryt Fm who was in court for the conviction proceedings, said Prince Kwadwo, 20, Ishmael Kwadwo, 18 were sentenced to 16 months each whiles Jonas Appiah, 18, was sentenced to 18 months.

They were charged for conspiracy to wit robbery, robbery and found guilty of the offence and subsequently convicted to begin their respective terms from the Koforidua prisons

According to the facts of the case as presented by prosecutor DSP Samuel Odame, the suspects have for some time now, gained notoriety in breaking into several shops in Begoro Township and stealing money and other properties of their victims.

He indicated the suspects were the same people who broke into a Mobile Money shop some weeks away and made away with some money and laptops among other incidents.

DSP Odame said they were arrested in an attempt to rob the Begoro National Health Insurance office last week and were charged and arraigned before the court.
