My life is in danger - Denu resident writes to IGP

Daniel Akpalu, a resident of Denu in the Ketu South Constituency in the Volta Region, who recently stated that his life was in danger and verbally appealed to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Alhassan to offer him protection from his assailants has moved a step further by officially petitioning the IGP.

The complainant is seeking Police protection from his alleged assailants after his attempt to have his day in Court was thwarted. Mr. Akpalu in an exclusive interview with The New Crusading GUIDE a forth night ago revealed that, there had been three different attempts on his life which were all reported to the Aflao Police.

“After the first attempt on my life at mid-night, I reported the matter to the Police at Aflao but although I managed identify one of the assailants as Prosper, the Police did not act until I went there again”, Akpalu narrated as he sounded shaken on the telephone.

“The Police later managed to effect the arrest of Prosper but bailed him later. Surprisingly, the same Prosper led two young men two on motor bikes to my residence on Tuesday night ostensibly to cause harm to me but they were warded off with the incessant barking of my dogs”.

He alleged that although he made another formal report at the Aflao Police Station, the Officers maltreated him and even refused to take the official complaint of threat on one’s life.

“I had to report the conduct of the Police to their Commander who got incensed and ordered them to take my complaint. In fact they treated me as if they had an issue with me”, he stated.

He further stated that after the first attempt on his life, the Aflao Police transferred the matter to Ho, the Volta Regional capital where the Regional Crime Officer directed that the case be processed for court which ended in a dramatic manner.
