Unemployed defiles and impregnates Pastor's daughter

Asamankese, April 14, GNA - The Asamankese Circuit Court on Tuesday remanded into police custody, Daniel Bampoe, unemployed, charged with defiling a 14 year-old Pastor's daughter and impregnating her. Bampoe whose plea was not taken will re-appear on April 22. Police Detective Inspector X. C. Okorey, prosecuting, told the court that on April 3 Pastor Samuel Atta Asiedu, father of the girl, accompanied her to the Police station to report the act of Bampoe. He said Pastor Asiedu's story was that Bampoe in February had sexual intercourse with the victim against her wish which later resulted in the girl being pregnant.

He said when Bampoe was later arrested; he admitted the offence of defilement and said he was responsible for the girl's pregnancy. The police therefore charged him with defilement and processed him for court.
