Two in trouble for inflicting deep blade cuts on shop attendant

Kumasi, Oct. 27, GNA - Scores of traders at the Kumasi Central Market watched stunned as two young women inflicted deep blade cuts above the right eye and cheek of a 24-year old shop attendant. They also bit the left breast of the victim. Adisa Ahmed was sent to the Manhyia Government Hospital for medical attention and later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for further examination and treatment of the swollen breast. One of the assailants, Wasila alias Princess, has been arrested by the Zongo Police, while Jemai is on the run.

Softly spoken Adisa, with the right side of the face in swathe of plaster, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that she was shocked by the unprovoked attack.

The two had the day before beaten up her junior sister, Mardy Ahmed, and this happened in her absence. She said she neither bothered herself with the trouble of finding out the cause nor confronted any of them.

"I simply do not have a problem with any of them. I therefore find it difficult to rationalize why they should hurt me the way they did." Adisa however claimed that the mother of Wasila, more than a year ago, threatened that she would harm her and this was reported to the police. The case, she said, has since been pending at the Ashanti New Town Court. She appealed to the police to hasten their investigations into the case to enable her to receive justice. Superintendent Achamfour Amoako, Zongo Police Divisional Crime Officer, confirmed the story and said the suspects would be put before court.
