They were convicted on their own plea

Prosecuting, Police Detective Sergeant Peter Agbelie told the court presided over by Mr. Charles Wiafie that, the complainant in the case is Mr. Badu Kweku Fuakye, a Security man of WESTEC Security Company.

He said on May 3, 2014, Oduku and a colleague security man, a witness in the case, whose name was not disclosed, were on duty at the residence of Bosomuru Kofi Annan at Gomoa Fetteh.

According to the Prosecutor, on that day at about 0730 hours, the complainant, who is a supervisor of security personnel of WESTEC at Gomoa Fetteh, received a telephone call from the witness that Oduku has stolen a gallon containing diesel and has given it to Amoah.
