Police to extend patrols to Gomoa Amoanda

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nana Agyeman Group of Companies, has appealed to the Agona Swedru Divisional and Awutu Beraku.

District Police Commands, to extend their patrols to Gomoa Amoanda areas to curb the snatching of cars and other robbery activities.

According to the CEO, for the past three months, over four taxi and private cars have been snatched from their owners by the unknown assailants at knife points.

Speaking to the Press at Gomoa Potsin, Nana Agyeman said the situation had created panic and fear among the residents of Gomoa Amoanda, Potsin, and Dominase.

He said the rampant cars snatching had not only scared taxi drivers alone, but potential investors who wished to invest in the areas.

The CEO stated that the visibility of the Police Patrol teams in these areas could stop the criminals who had descended on the area to harass the people.

He said the situation could affect business activities of the residents who are predominantly traders and farmers.

The CEO said, about four months ago, the timely intervention of the residents prevented three unknown persons from snatching a hired taxi cab to Amoanda from the driver.

According to Nana Agyeman, the residents managed to arrest the three criminals and handed them over to the Agona Swedru Police.

The CEO appealed to the residents, especially opinion leaders in the area, to work hard to give credible information to the police, adding that the police should redouble their efforts to clamp down on the criminals.

Nana Agyeman expressed regret that people in the area were not experiencing a peaceful environment to execute their businesses to create job and wealth for the unemployed youth.
