Miller goes in for 10 years for defiling client

Aflao, June 21, GNA - A corn-miller has been for jailed 10 years in hard labour, by a Circuit Court at Aflao, for defiling a 12 year-old who had gone to his shop to mill some cassava.

Togbe Agbenorxevi, 30, pleaded not guilty. Mr Akwasi Asafo-Agyei, Dzodze District Police Commander, prosecuting, told the court, presided by Mr Francis Obiri, that the primary school pupil lived with her parents at Ehi, near Dzodze, where Agbenorxevi also lived and operated the corn mill.

He said about 0800 hours, on December 28, last year, the victim was sent to mill cassava but the convict, who was alone at the mill, dragged her to an inner apartment of the mill and defiled her.

Mr Asafo-Agyei said Agbenorxevi jumped through the window and hid in the bush when the victim's shout for help attracted passers-by but he was later arrested. 21 June 10
