Man who threatens to kill mum granted bail

Asamankese, May 01, GNA - A labourer, Mawule Bokor, who threatened to kill his mother with a gun was granted a 5-million-cedi bail with one surety by the Asamankese Circuit Court on Friday.

Bokor pleaded not guilty on two counts of possession of a single-barrel shotgun with ammunitions without authority and threatening to kill Madam Afi Kpotufe, his mother, and will re-appear on May 17. Police Chief Inspector S.A. Ntow, prosecuting, told the court that both mother and son lived in the same house at Ayigbe Town suburb at Akwatia.

He said Bokor had been harassing the mother, alleging that she had stolen his 10 million cedis that Madam Kpotufe denied.

Chief Inspector Ntow said on April 11, the accused got home heavily drunk and again demanded the alleged stolen amount from the mother and threatened to kill her with a gun if she failed to give him the money. He said the mother fled the house and reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of Bokor.
