A Techiman Circuit Court presided over by Alexander Graham has sentenced 32-year David Owusu also known as ‘Thousand Note’ to ten years imprisonment in hard labour for robbing students of the Wenchi Methodist Senior High School (SHS).

According to the facts of the case as presented to the court by Chief Inspector Diboro, the accused and his gang attacked the students who had gone to town and robbed them of their money and mobile phones.

The Assemblyman of Kaamu Jensoso electoral area, where the incident occurred was subsequently notified about the robbery incident and promised to investigate and find the culprits.

He was later tipped that David Owusu who resides in the area committed the crime and therefore lodged a complaint with the police leading to his arrest but his accomplices managed to escape.

Investigations confirmed he was indeed behind the robbery and was therefore arraigned before court and charged for the offence.

The accused after trial was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour by the Techiman Circuit Court.
