Man arrested for siphoning blood from a boy's body

Nkwanta, June 17, GNA - The Nkwanta Police has arrested Ashmui Zakari, a 29-year-old businessman for allegedly drawing the blood of a three-year old boy at Kpassa in the Nkwanta North District. Mr. Douglas Kumah, Nkwanta District Police Commander, briefing the Ghana News Agency said Zakari sneaked out with the minor and returned him later.

He said the mother of the boy was alarmed when Zakari came back with the boy who looked dazed, pale and weak with needle spots on the joints of his forearm.

Mr. Kumah said, Dr Emmanuel Kasu, Medical Superintendent of the Nkwanta District hospital, who examined the victim, identified the spots as those of a syringe and that the victim lost considerable amount of blood. He said Zakari is remanded in prison custody while his docket has been forwarded to the Attorney General's Department for advice.
