Four murder suspects remanded in prison custody

Techiman (B/A), July 16, GNA - Four persons who allegedly murdered and secretly buried a 30 year old man have been remanded in prison custody by a circuit court at Techiman presided by Mr. Justice Godwin Kwasi-Kumah.

Alhaji Yusifu Mataba Alhassan, alias Obolo, a 42-year-old businessman, his 36-year-old wife, Amina Yusifu, Osei Kwaku, 22, and Iddrisu Tona, alias landlord, 23 years old are to re-appear on August 2, this year.

Their pleas were not taken. Chief Inspector Comfort Adubia Nyamesah told the court that Alhaji Mataba accused the deceased, Yahaya Amadu and one Baba Majar, 14, of stealing his mobile phone and three million cedis. The prosecutor said Alhaji arrested the two and subjected them to severe punishment.

When he realised that Yahaya condition was critical rushed him to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital but he died on the way. He then carried the body in his private vehicle to Bredi number one near Nkoranza and secretly buried the corpse with the help of others now on the run.
