Farmer remanded for stealing

Mankranso (Ash) May 20,GNA - The Mankranso Magistrate Court has remanded a 26-year-old farmer to prison custody for unlawful entry and stealing at Adugyama in the Ahafo-Ano South District. Abdul Karim, the farmer, pleaded guilty and would re-appear on May 29 the year.

Police Inspector Abraham Agyei Mensah, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr. Frank Owusu-Afriyie that on May 12, this year, at about 1600 hrs, Victoria Fofie the complainant returned from farm only to see her door damaged and her two brief-cases, a wall-clock and her husband's pair of shoes stolen.

He said, the next day, the accused was spotted wearing the shoes by the complainant and she quickly informed her husband who together with three other boys confronted and arrested the accused. He was handed over to the Mankranso police where in his caution statement admitted the offence and was therefore charged with the offence after police investigation.
