Farmer fined for indecently assaulting a three-year-old girl

Akim Oda (E/R), April 21, GNA - Kwadwo Darkwah, a farmer, who indecently assaulted a three-year-old girl at Akim Akenkenso has been fined GH¢200 by the Akim Oda Magistrates Court.

The Court presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor ordered the 24-year-old farmer to pay additional GH¢300 to compensate the victim. Darkwah who pleaded guilty to indecent assault would serve 12 months prison term in hard labour in default.

Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah said the victim was a pupil of Mary Kindergarten and lives with her parents at Akenkenso, while the convict also lives in the town.

He said around 1000 January 9, the victim was playing with her elder sister when the convict invited them to his room and sent the elder sister to buy groundnut for him. After the girl had left, the convict placed the little girl on his bed, removed her pants and placed his finger inside her private part. Luck, however eluded him when the victim's sister spotted him and reported the incident leading to his arrest.
