Electrician squanders father's money

Asamankese, Jan. 7, GNA - A 20-year-old electrician who allegedly stole his father's 3,500 Ghana Cedis on November 28, 2007 has squandered the amount.

A police source said Issifu Braimah, who lived in Accra, visited his father at Oworam in the West Akyem District on November 28. Braimah took advantage of his father's absence from the house, entered his room and stole the amount.

He bolted to Accra where he went on a spending spree, rented a room and used the rest of the money to buy some personal effects. Braimah was traced to Accra and arrested on December 28 and was handed over to the Atomic Police who in turn handed him over to the Asamankese Police.

Braimah admitted the offence and said he had spent every pesewa of the amount.
