Easter Regional Police commander cautions criminals

Koforidua, Dec. 21, GNA- The Eastern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Felix Asare Darko, on Friday warned that criminals who intended to take advantage of the Christmas festivities to perpetuate crime would not have it easy. He said the Regional Police Command had intensified its patrols and was firmly on the ground to deal with any criminal activity. DCP Asare Darko was briefing the media in Koforidua on Friday after meting with District Police commanders in the Region. He said snap checks within and around police barriers would be intensified to check criminal activities.

The Regional Police Commander said wee smokers, cultivators of wee, armed robbers and other criminals would be firmly dealt with. DCP Asare Darko gave the assurance that the people would be protected to enable them to go about their normal duties freely. He also said the police was fully prepared for the 2008 African Cup of Nations competition and said visitors who would visit the region during that period would be given maximum protection.
