Court remands woman for murder

Nsawam, Aug 6, GNA - The Nsawam Magistrate Court at the weekend remanded Eva Nketiah, unemployed, for alleged murder. Eva 22, pleaded not guilty and will reappear on September 26, 2008. Police Inspector Alex Cosmos told the court presided over by Mr Wilberforce Mensah that Nketiah was receiving spiritual treatment at the Pentecostal Church at Okobeyeyiye near Nsawam. Prosecution said the accused person gave birth to a baby girl on December 9, 2007 and on December 15, 2007 at about 11.00 pm the accused shouted and claimed that the baby she was breastfeeding had turned into a cobra.

Inspector Cosmos said this drew the attention of the pastor and other members of the church. He said in an attempt to search for the cobra, church members rather found a decomposed body in a polythene bag, some few meters from the camp, suspected to be that of the baby.
