Court remands three for gang defilement

Juaso (Ash), Nov. 18, GNA - The Juaso court has remanded three persons in prison custody for allegedly taking turns at two different times and locations to have sex with a 15-year old girl. The three, Bernard Wiafe, farmer, Hakim Agyei, unemployed and Kwaku Atta, a driver's mate, all pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy and defilement, all pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy and defilement.

They will re-appear before the court in two week's time. Prosecuting, Police Inspector, Michael Ahiabor of the Police at Peminase near Juaso, told the court, presided over by Mr. Jacob Boon that all three accused persons and the victim as well as the complainant, a farmer lived at Peminase. He said on November 3, Wiafe, the first accused met the victim at a funeral at Beposo and lured her to Peminase that same night where he had sexual intercourse with her.

Having satisfied himself, Wiafe under the pretext of going to find a vehicle to send the victim back to Beposo, rather sent her to Agyei, second accused and asked him to find a place for the victim to pass the night till the next morning. Agyei however, sent the victim to the room of Atta, third accused who at the time had not yet returned home from work, and in Atta's room, Agyei also took advantage of the situation and forcibly had sex with victim.

Atta, who returned from work later, took his turn to have bouts of sex with the victim that same night after which he is said to have asked victim to leave his room and this resulted into a hot argument between Atta and victim who did not take kindly to the way she had been treated.

The situation attracted neighbours to the scene, and Atta took to his heels. The complainant, an eye-witness to the scene, after listening to the ordeal of the victim led her to the Peminase police where a case was made lodged.

She was issued with a medical form for the necessary examination and the complainant led the police to arrest the culprits.
