Court orders two to compensate minors over pornography

An Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday ordered Sefakor Ayeke, a polytechnic student and Isaac Kofi Parku Dodzie also a student to pay a total of GHc24,800.00 to the state.

The money is compensation to two minors they subjected to inhuman treatment.

The Ayeke and Dodzie subjected the two minors to suck the manhood of male adults while it was videoed and sent to a white man abroad.

Out of the amount, GHc8,000.00 is to be given to the victims as compensation or in default serve six months imprisonment each.

Ayeke and Dodzie are to pay GHc2,400.00 each on the charge of conspiracy to commit crime and in default they would serve a 12- month jail term each.

On the charge of subjecting a child to inhuman and degrading treatment, the two are to pay GHc3,000.00 each or in default serve a 12- month jail term each.

Ayeke would also pay a fine of GHc6,000.00 on the charge of abetment to crime or in default go to jail for 24 months.

A Circuit Court in Accra made the order to Ayeke, Banking and Finance Polytechnic student, and her accomplice Isaac Kofi Parku Dodzie, 18, after they had been found guilty at the end of the trial.

Ayeke who lured the two minors to suck the manhood of male adults while she videoed the act to supposed white boyfriend abroad, was found guilty on the charge of conspiracy to commit crime, subjecting a child to inhuman and degrading treatment, abetment of crime .

Dodzie was sentenced to three years imprisonment on two counts of indecent assault.

On November 7, last year, the Court sentenced Ebenezer Aseidu, a Sprayer and an accomplice of the two accused persons to three years imprisonment over the same charge.

Another accomplice, one Mustapha is said to be at large.

Ayeke is said to have in September last year made two minors aged 8 and 10 to touch and suck the manhood of Aseidu and Dodzie at North Legon, a suburb of Accra.

Prosecuting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sarah Acquah told the court that the complainant, John Tsimesi, is a businessman and a father to one of the minors in the case, while the second victim, aged 10, is a Junior High School pupil and a cousin of the first victim, both living in the same house.

She said all four suspects are friends who live in the same neighbourhood at Madina Washington and that in September, during the long vacation holidays, the first victim came to spend some holidays with her cousin, the second victim.

The prosecutor said one day while victims were home with their grandmother, Ayeke sought permission to take them to a nearby cafe to play games and lured them to Mustapha's house where she conspired with him to make the children suck his manhood in turns after she (Ayeke) had demonstrated the process to the children.

DSP Acquah said Ayeke warned the minors not to tell anybody else they would die the next day, adding that she again lured the children to a guest house where she had again conspired with Mustapha, who was this time joined by Asiedu and Dodzie, to carry out the act.

She stated that the first victim was made to suck the manhood of Dodzie while the second sucked that of Asiedu—an act which is inhumane and degrading to the victims.

Prosecutor disclosed that after the act Ayeke bought the minors ice cream and pleaded with them not to disclose it to anybody.

DSP Acquah indicated that during the act Ayeke videoed it and purportedly sent it to an accomplice in the US for a fee.

However, luck eluded her when the first victim told her parents her ordeal when she returned to Tema. The suspects were arrested after a complaint had been lodged.

At the hearing of the case, a medical report produced in court stated that there hadn't been any hymen contact and that the children are okay.
