Convict slapped another jail term for similar offence

Kade, Nov. 13, GNA -Kwabena Agyei, unemployed, who was serving 18 months in prison for stealing electrical cables belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana was last Friday slapped with another 18 months sentence for a "fresh" cable theft.

Agyei was convicted to a fine of GHc480 or 18 months in prison, but since he was unable to pay the fine, he was whisked to prison to serve the sentence and to compensate the complainant, John Ayi-Ansah with GHc150 being the cost, of the cables he stole.
