Chinese man granted GH¢5,000 bail for threat of death

Tarkwa, Dec. 24, GNA - A Tarkwa circuit court has granted GH¢5,000 ba= il with two sureties to be justified to Liu Xiao Zhong, a 46 year old businessman for threat of death. The court also ordered him to surrender his passport to the court. He pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that one Liu Xin Ping, now deceased= , Zhong the accused and another person named Tan Hai about three weeks ago rented an excavator from Lucy Chen for a day at a fee of GH¢6,000. He said within two hours, the equipment got stuck in a mud and Lucy Che= n was informed about it. The prosecutor said Lucy asked for a loan of GH¢400 from the deceased= to enable her to hire a salvage truck to remove the excavator from the mud, which the deceased paid.

He said on December 13, at 1800 hours, the three went to see Lucy and the husband about the loan and outstanding job that the excavator could not finish.

He said but Lucy's husband, Juo, who had not been informed of the loa= n, got angry and in the process Liu Xiao-Zhong rushed out of the room followed by Lucy, who had locked the main door to the house, pulled out a registered pump action gun from his car, but later abandoned it because of the crowd that had gathered at the time. When they returned to the room, the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood and a report was made to the Police.
