Butcher uses knife to harm driver's mate

Tema, Nov. 17, GNA - The Tema Circuit Court has remanded a butcher, who used his knife to deeply cut the wrist of a driver's mate at Ashaiman during a misunderstanding between them, into prison custody. Abukari Yakubu pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on November 26.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Ben Agbedanu told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Feye that, on October 25, this year, at about 0900 hours, a misunderstanding arose between the two over false accusation, which the complainant made against the accused.

He said due to this, Yakubu held the complainant's hand, removed his butcher's knife and slashed his (complainant's) wrist. The prosecution said the complainant was rushed to hospital for treatment and later a report was made to the police and the accused was arrested.
