Children need support most, during formative years - educationist.

Anaji (W/R), July 31, GNA - Mrs Prisca Turkson, the Headteacher of Mother of Mother's Early Childhood Development Centre (ECDC) at Anaji, has said the formative years of children was very crucial and should not be underestimated.

She said it was sad that many parents still refuse to enrol their children in these centres but prefer to keep them at home. Mrs Turkson said this at the second graduation ceremony of the school at which 19 pupils who have completed ECDC training were presented with certificates.

She said the ECDC policy the government is introducing would help to make children's education and development easier, convenient and friendlier.

Mrs Turkson said parents and guardians must support their wards by providing reading and learning materials, assist them to do their homework and encourage them to play.

Mr John Opoku-Dacosta, Parent teacher Association (PTA) chairman of the school, said there was the need for parents to assist ECDC with teaching and learning materials that could be beneficial to their wards.
