This weekend's edition of the show started on an interesting note from the proposed new Chamber for Parliamentarians to looming dumsor, ex-Maritime Officer chairing the GRA and Blckstars' AFCON.

Newsfile Host, Samson Lardy Anyenini together with his guests discussed the 450-seater Chamber for Members of Parliament. Questions were raised if indeed Ghana was in need of a building that will cost the country over $200m.

After much pressure and agitations, Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, consulted the Parliamentary board it was agreed that the idea of a new Chamber was not thoroughly thought through thus had to be dropped.

Again was the topic of 'dumsor' which Ghanaians were convinced was over. However, the Chamber of Independent Power Producers and Bulk Consumers (CIPDIB) predicted that possible power outages across the country.

According to CIPDIB, lights are likely to go off within one week if Power Distribution Services (PDS) fails to pay huge debts owed the Independent Power Producers (IPPs).

The Blackstars' exit from AFCON 2019 came up for discussions where issues of coaching deficiencies was brought up. Ghanaians have called for the sack of head coach of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah following Ghana's abysmal performance at AFCON in Egypt.

Former director-general of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) Kwame Owusu is President Akuffo-Addo's newest appointee as Board Chairman of the Ghana Revenue Authority. The appointment has raised issues of bad governance after it emerged the new GRA Chair had allegedly used over GHc66 thousand for kitchen cabinet.
