Hungary Africa Forum set to take place in Budapest - Imre Laszloczki

Mr Imre Laszloczki, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Hungarian Embassy, has said the 3rd Budapest Africa Forum will be held from 20-21 June 2018 in Budapest, Hungary.

He said this year the focus of attention would dwell essentially on the development of agriculture.

Speaking to the GNA, he said a number of investment, research and production agreements between Hungarian and Ghanaian companies would be signed at the forum.

Mr Laszloczki said participants at the event, including prominent politicians and African businessmen, would discuss economic development on the African continent, opportunities for investment, research and educational cooperation.

He said Ghanaian delegation, to be led by Kennedy Osei Nyarko, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, includes various private sector companies, the Ghana Free Zones Authority, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the Sari-Savanna Agricultural Research Institute.

Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a Hungarian trained economist and coordinator of the Ghana Hungarian Friendship Association (GHUFA), will also be in attendance.

Mr Laszloczki said the success of the previous Budapest Africa Forums has led various partnerships and the development of business opportunities.

He said the forum would bring together decision makers -in beautiful Budapest- interested in mutually beneficial development of African countries and this is within the framework of the ‘Opening to the South Policy’ launched by the Government of Hungary in 2015.
