The piloting of the Bus Rapid Transport service has been characterized by low patronage.

Management of the Bus Rapid Transit service today begun a pilot of the newly introduced ‘Ayaalolo’ buses.

The free bus ride will however be available to passengers commuting from Amasaman through Achimota to Circle and then to Tudu- at the Central Business District, where there are dedicated routes for the buses.

But majority of commuters within the catchment area missed this morning’s ride due to poor publicity on the project.

Starr News Pappisdaf Abdullah who has been monitoring the movement of the buses reported that most of them were seen with scanty passengers.

The buses numbering about 85, for the first phase, have been fitted with WI-FI and USB cables to encourage patronage.
