The Narcotics Control Board is probing ownership claims by the mother of convicted drug trafficker Nayele Ametefe on houses confiscated by the state.

The state has confiscated assets belonging to Nayele but her mother, Madam Akua Adubofour claims two houses confiscated as part of the assets does not belong to her daughter Nayele.

Nayele was sentenced eight years and eight months jail term in London last year for transporting cocaine to the Britain. The street value of the cocaine carried by Nayele was approximately 1.9 million Pounds.

She was reported to have had on her $23, 000 and 6000 Pounds at the time of her arrest.

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and NACOB have so far confiscated all items in the Night Angels Enterprise located on the Dzorwulu highway and six fidelity bank accounts containing approximately Ghc30, 000.00.

Lawyers of EOCO are also demanding that lawyer representing Nayele’s mother serves her daughter in prison with processes she has filed claiming ownership of two houses she says belongs to her and not her daughter.

However, Madam Adubofour's lawyer says there is no need to serve her daughter with the processes since the houses belong to her.

The case has since been adjourned to June 1, 2016, for hearing to commence.
