I am doing my best for Hearts - Keni

Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi argues he is doing his best for the club amid frustrations over results of the team’s pre-season friendly matches that ended in three defeats.

The Japanese-American, who replaced Herbert Addo, conceded a 4-0 loss to WAFA and further suffered a 3-0 and 2-0 defeats at the hands of Libyan giants Al Ahli Tripoli in two successive friendly matches played on Tuesday and Friday respectively.

“Hearts of Oak fans have been very frustrated,” Kenichi said.

“They want to see the club winning the league and also the FA Cup. I really don’t know if we can achieve that in my first year or not. I'm trying my best ahead of the season,” he added.

Hearts have not won the Ghana Premier League since 2009. They finished 13th last season with 40 points, escaping relegation with head-to-head rule ahead of Heart of Lions and Great Olympics.

The Phobians have offloaded Emmanuel Hayford, Kwame Kizito, Issah Mumuni, Shaun October and former captain Kofi Abanga, replacing them with Patrick Razak Omotoyossi, Justine Anane, Cosmos Dauda, Mustapha Essuman and John Abiadoo for the new season.
