The director of Aspire Dreams Academy Captain Andy Sam has disclosed that Argentine Icon Lionel Messi will be in Ghana sooner than later.

In an interview with sports24 Ghana at the 9th Media Launch of the Academy, the former Board Chairman of the then Obuasi Goldfields and now AshantiGold FC disclosed that plans are far advance to bringing the Barcelona Star to Ghana to support the ‘Combating Malaria Campaign’.

“Plans are far advance in bringing Lionel Messi to Ghana sooner than later to support the Aspire Academy’s ‘Football Combating Malaria’ project.”

The ‘Football Combating Malaria’ project is a humanitarian programme which has been duly endorsed by the Leo Messi Foundation and aimed at donating anti-mosquito bed nets to young people and their families across Africa to help reduce malaria infection across the continent.

Aspire Dreams Academy provides thousands of 13-year olds the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in order to become professional footballers.
