GHALCA Veep ‘fascinated’ by crowd at Essipong stadium

Massive turn out at the Essipong Stadium for the MTN FA Cup Final Massive turn out at the Essipong Stadium for the MTN FA Cup Final

The Vice president of Ghana League Clubs (GHALCA) has revealed his fascination at the massive turn out at the MTN FA cup final.

Mr. Isaac Koomson commended the organizers of the FA cup final alongside the media for their unique publicity and marketing credentials.

The 2015 MTN FA was held at Essipong, the first time outside Accra.

Speaking to Sportscrusader.com after the final match, Mr. Koomson said, “The attendance in the FA cup final has been overwhelming.

It was a fully-filled stadium with people still queuing for their chance to enter the stadium.

“This means that it is good to bring football to the doorsteps of the fans.
Nobody can take away the role of the media in matches of this stature but I must say I am enthused by the massive turn out. I am very happy with the role of the media in hyping the FA cup both in the Western region and beyond.
“I am happy the media is helping MTN not to regret sponsoring the cup. Whenever there is competition like this and people sponsor, we need to give them that mileage which will encourage others to also come on board”, Koomson told Sportscrusader.

The 2015 MTN FA cup had an estimated turn-up of 19,600 at the Essipong Sports stadium in Western region. Goals from Bismark Oppong and Kwame Donsu won the cup for Medeama making Ahmed Toure’s stunning header a mere gallery item.
