Students body deplores Ahwoi's statements.

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) says it regrets the continued holding of public positions of trust by what it calls unreliable personalities.

A statement issued by the Union said these mistrusted elements, if they are allowed to continue in the system, will be to the detriment of the country. It condemned comments made by the Chairman of the Volta River Authority Board Mr. Ato Ahwoi which, it said was aimed at "lambasting the NUGS president at the forum to mark International Day of the Youth yesterday, at the National Theatre."

It regretted that Mr. Ahwoi digressed from the topic given him to castigate the NUGS President for the statement he made on the continuous "Cut Down" on higher education expenditure.

The statement pointed out that Mr. Ahwoi's attempt to misinform the public on NUGS policy, which took place when he spoke on "Energy, a source of Development", is totally unacceptable to the union.
