Police yet to make arrest in Atebubu religious clashes

Police are yet to arrest persons involved in Friday’s clashes between Muslims and Seventh Day Adventists in Atebubu.

The two religious sects clashed over a piece of land.

An SDA mission house and three other houses were burnt down during the incident.

Several people got injured as well. Although more police personnel have been deployed to the area, no arrests have been made.

Speaking to Starr News, the Brong Ahafo regional police PRO, ASP Christopher Tawiah said his outfit has some leads which would help in investigations.

“Investigations are underway and we are still gathering information but the Police have been able to restore calm and order in the community.

“We have gathered some leads and hopefully we will bring the perpetrators to book soon” he stated.
