Police interdicts officers for robbery

The Police Service has interdicted some officers who allegedly used an official vehicle for armed robbery.

The officers were arrested last year after allegedly replacing the number plate on a police four wheel vehicle with a civilian plate.

Spokesperson for the Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur who disclosed this in an interview with Starr News’ Ibrahim Alhassan said the officers will be duly arraigned before the court for justice to be dispensed.

“The offences for which the officers were interdicted last year range from misconduct, disrespect to senior police officers, and a few cases of robbery on the part of officers.

“In the case of robbery, we need to state that when an officer commits an offence which borders on criminality, such officers are also put up for prosecution in the court of law,” he explained.
