MORE WOMEN URGED TO DO ENGINEERING

Mr. G. A. Haldane-Lutterot, Chief Director of Ministry of Trade and Industry, has called on Ghanaians women not to consider engineering as a male preserve.

He said in view of rapid scientific and technological advancement going on in the world, the development of women in engineering must be approached with a high sense of urgency.

Mr. Haldane-Lutterodt said this is the only way the role of the emancipated Ghanaian woman will be appreciated in efforts towards balanced gender development. He was addressing a one-day forum, organised jointly by Farm Implements FIT) and Intermediate Technology of Ghana, in Accra last week.

The forum which was organised under the theme "Women Engineering" was attended by about 60 participants drawn fron the Kumasi Technical Training Centre (ATTC) and Suame Magazine others.
